The countdown is on — Beyonce has yet to take the stage. This will be my last plea for your fashion forecasts. How will Bey handle her wardrobe duties this year? Do you suppose she considers what Katy Perry and Lady Gaga and Rihanna might turn up in before planning her own outfit? Who cares the most, do you suspect, about being dissected on the red carpet? -

And there’s something Chris Martin and Beck have in common. Both of them cut a wide swath, musical mood-wise. They’ve both got great emotional range. Remember Beck’s rhinestone slacker phase, circa “Loser”?

“Heart is a Drum” is off of Beck’s album “Morning Phase,” a big winner tonight. It’s energetic and kind of upbeat, which is in contrast to much of the rest of the album. “Morning Phase” is a mellow affair.

And the GRAMMY for Album Of The Year goes to Beck for Morning Phase. Congratulations!
