I want to say that I see the New England Patriots Super Bowl saver Malcolm Butler in the crowd. If that is indeed him, he won at life. What a life changing moment for that guy.
The countdown is on — Beyonce has yet to take the stage. This will be my last plea for your fashion forecasts. How will Bey handle her wardrobe duties this year? Do you suppose she considers what Katy Perry and Lady Gaga and Rihanna might turn up in before planning her own outfit? Who cares the most, do you suspect, about being dissected on the red carpet?
Pharrell and Paul McCartney having some words. Collaboration on the way perhaps?
Do you prefer Chris Martin with Coldplay? Or solo? Or, like most of us, will you just take him any old way you can get him?
Also let us know your amateur rock critic’s opinion of Beck and Chris Martin.
Since our last burst of commercial-time togetherness we found out Record of the Year results and heard from Beck and Chris Martin. Let’s focus our attentions there. Are you altogether thrilled for Sam Smith, or are you feeling disappointed for Meaghan Trainor? Let us know.
It’s better to burn out than to fade away, as Neil Young once said. And why do I bring that up? I’ll tell you why: we still have an amazing performance or two and one award announcement to go, even though we’ve only got a few minutes of show time left. Stay with us.
I love that it's the best night of his life. He's grateful he got his heart broken!
Record of the Year belongs to Sam Smith. There's that great checked suit again!
Chris Martin, for his part, seems to be owning this song as much as his stage partner. He gets it, he feels it. Do you?
The drumming of the heart is beating him down. Let’s not accuse Beck of having an under-developed literary side. Impressive songwriting.
“Heart is a Drum” is about a doomed love affair. Or is it about death? What would you say if you had to break down the meaning of this song?
And as we’re seeing right now, they’re both incredible musicians, really gifted.
And there’s something Chris Martin and Beck have in common. Both of them cut a wide swath, musical mood-wise. They’ve both got great emotional range. Remember Beck’s rhinestone slacker phase, circa “Loser”?
“Heart is a Drum” is off of Beck’s album “Morning Phase,” a big winner tonight. It’s energetic and kind of upbeat, which is in contrast to much of the rest of the album. “Morning Phase” is a mellow affair.
Prince: a pumpkin-hued feast for the eyes. All he has to do is be present and we're captivated.
Beck has won the Grammy for Album Of The Year and Kanye West jumped out of his seat and faked like he was going to rush the stage. Now that was funny.
Heartfelt congratulations from all of us to Beck, right? Are you clapping your hands there on your couch?
Only Prince could garner this much GRAMMY applause by just walking onstage
