NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — Two foreign nationals have been arrested on immigration violations in New Bedford, Mass., where police say the surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect may have once lived. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says the two were taken into custody by Homeland Security agents. But an ICE spokesman isn't saying if they're connected to the suspect.

DETROIT (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden says the way people have reacted to the Boston Marathon bombings and Texas fertilizer plant explosion has been incredible. Biden told Michigan Democrats at a dinner tonight that a debt of gratitude is owed to authorities and regular citizens for their "resilience, heroism, commitment and love."

The Washington Post on how the bombing investigation evolved:
The work was painstaking and mind-numbing: One agent watched the same segment of video 400 times. The goal was to construct a timeline of images, following possible suspects as they moved along the sidewalks, building a narrative out of a random jumble of pictures from thousands of different phones and cameras.

Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino took a hard line this morning when asked about the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bomb attacks.
"I hope that the US Attorney takes him on the federal side and throws the book at him," Menino told ABC's "This Week" program. "These two individuals held this city hostage for five whole days."
Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge, remains hospitalized in serious condition at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center, where he was taken Friday once he was in police custody.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Investigators believe the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing were likely planning other attacks based on the cache of weapons uncovered, the city’s police commissioner said Sunday.
Commissioner Ed Davis told CBS’ ‘‘Face the Nation’’ that authorities found an arsenal of homemade explosives after a gun battle between police and the suspects in the Boston suburb of Watertown early Friday.
‘‘We have reason to believe, based upon the evidence that was found at that scene — the explosions, the explosive ordnance that was unexploded and the firepower that they had — that they were going to attack other individuals,’’ Davis said. ‘‘That’s my belief at this point.’’

Kyle Barron stepped out of his taxi from Logan International Airport just after 11 p.m. Friday. He had been away nearly a week, on business in London. From afar, he had watched as bombings and gunfire sundered his community and neighboring cities.
The worst part was Friday, when Barron was cut off from information, crossing the ocean on a plane as police hunted for one of the suspected bombers from Monday’s Boston Marathon.
“I didn’t have access to what was going on and I was nervous the whole flight,” the 23-year-old Cambridge resident said. “Anything could have happened in that eight hours.”

Bewilderment and tears – many from children – filled St. Ann’s during the 10:30 family Mass where more than 500 people came to the brick-faced church to seek comfort from the terror of the past week and to pray for 8-year-old Martin Richard, his family and all the other killed, maimed or who sprang spontaneously to action last Monday.
“We weep for the last week,’’ Reverend Sean M. Connor told parishioners as the Mass began. During the homily, he cradled a young child in his arms, as he urged parishioners to learn love from the events of last week. “If we are not changed for the better ... then we’ve learned little or nothing.”
