Live updates from the Boston Marathon explosions

Two explosions shattered the euphoria of the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday, sending authorities out on the course to carry off the injured while the stragglers in the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton were rerouted away from the smoking site of the blasts.

Donohoe is on medical ventilator, according to Mount Auburn Hospital doctor. Critical condition, but stable. Able to follow commands, squeeze fingers, wiggle toes today, doctor says. Care from first responders and ER was "rapid and outstanding." Dr. David Millar says.

Today, St. Mary's church in Melrose will join with many churches to pay tribute to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings at 2:50 p.m., which represents the moment when the attacks occurred at the finish line last Monday, April 15.

This will include a moment of silence and the ringing of bells at various churches.

Members of the North End community are planning to come together Thursday for a vigil to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings and pray for the injured, according to an e-mail from neighborhood native John Romano.

The vigil will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Old North Church at 193 Salem St.
