Live updates from the Boston Marathon explosions
Two explosions shattered the euphoria of the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday, sending authorities out on the course to carry off the injured while the stragglers in the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton were rerouted away from the smoking site of the blasts.

According to a Facebook event, thousands of people, mostly college students, plan to walk from Boston College to Boston Friday afternoon in honor of those hurt or killed in Monday's explosions.
"For anyone who did not get to finish, for anyone who was injured, and for anyone who lost their life...we will walk. We will walk to show that we decide when our marathon ends," the event said. -
Friends and strangers alike have extended both emotional and financial support to the family of Boston Marathon bombing victim Martin Richard.
Richard, an Ashmont resident, was fatally injured as he waited for his father, Bill Richard, at the finish line on Boylston Street, friends said. His mother and sister seriously wounded.
A Google Doc called "Caring for the Richard family" circulated on Twitter on Tuesday, calling for donations for the Martin family.
Well-wishers offered food, yardwork and money for medical expenses. Many simply wrote, "Whatever's needed - call on me."
The majority of donors indicated that they did not know the family personally.
The greater online community has reached out to the Martin family under the hashtag #prayforMartin. -

Statement from the BAA on its Facebook page just moments ago: "We have a few important details for our runners at this time...
First, we again want to express our sympathy to all of the victims and our gratitude to the first responders of yesterday's explosions.
We're working with the City of Boston to re-open streets that have been cleared from the investigation as quickly as possible. As such, the runners' bags that were being picked up on Berkeley Street are now being moved to "The Castle" at 101 Arlington Street (at Stuart St.) and will be available until 7:00 p.m. tonight.
Later today, we'll have updates on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday pick-up.
The finish line remains an active crime scene. We ask that our runners and the public please cooperate with the law enforcement agencies in the area for as long as our collective cooperation is requested.
We again extend a heartfelt thank you from us at the Boston Athletic Association for the condolences that have come in from around the world." -

Grief-stricken neighbors today described Martin Richard, the 8-year-old Dorchester boy killed in the Marathon bombings, as a child full of life who was part of a very close-knit family.
“They were always together,’’ neighbor Jane Sherman said of the Richard family, who live next door to her on Carruth Street in Dorchester. “This is the worst tragedy I have ever been through in my life. It’s a horrific situation.’’ -
