Live updates from the Boston Marathon explosions

Two explosions shattered the euphoria of the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday, sending authorities out on the course to carry off the injured while the stragglers in the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton were rerouted away from the smoking site of the blasts.

Lord & Taylor was the site of the second explosion, on the other side of Exeter Street and the opposite side of Boylston Street from Marathon Sports, site of the first explosion closer to the finish line of the Marathon.

CNN is reporting that an arrest has been made based on two federal law enforcement sources and a Boston Police source who talked to reporter John King. The source told King that the ID was made based on enhanced video taken from a surveillance camera at Lord & Taylor, along with video supplied by an unnamed Boston TV station. www.boston.com

A portion of Brigham and Women’s Hospital was evacuation at about 3 p.m. after a person pulled up to the valet entrance at 45 Francis St. and left the car locked. Valets noticed gas cans in car and security ordered an evacuation out of an abundance of caution, hospital spokeswoman Erin McDonough said.
